Our carbon neutral future

We are committed to a net zero level of CO2 emissions by 2030 for scope 1 and 2 emissions and by 2045 for scope 3 emissions. A net zero level means reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 90% and continuously offsetting the remaining emissions. Bauer Media Outdoor Europe is actively involved in our journey towards a carbon neutral future. For example, the electricity we use comes entirely from renewable energy sources, without nuclear power.

Reducing energy consumption

As part of our move towards a carbon-free future, we are taking steps and investing in technologies that will reduce our energy consumption. For example, we are replacing fluorescent lighting with bespoke LED options, reducing the hours of digital advertising and installing more energy-efficient digital displays.

Energy-efficient appliance technology

We have long invested in modern and energy-efficient technology. Our advertising equipment uses a brightness sensor that adjusts the luminous intensity according to the brightness of the environment. Thanks to the sensor, only a fraction of the maximum power of the devices is used, which means low energy consumption, especially during cloudy weather and darkness.

Our commitment to sustainability

Our approach to environmental issues is goal-oriented, and we aim to take environmental issues into account in those activities with the greatest environmental impact. This work is supported by an ISO-certified environmental management system.

As of 2021, Bauer Media Outdoor is committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
